All Massage sessions combine a variety of techniques - such as Deep Tissue, Swedish, Thai and Trigger Point - to address your problem(s) or simply help you feel better.
Hot stones, fragrance-free or lightly scented lotion and soothing music are always included at no extra charge.
An early influence in professional treatment, Swedish Massage is relaxing and therapeutic. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rubbing, squeezing, kneading, and gliding. The benefits of this style are wide-ranging and it blends well with other bodywork techniques. It is not offered as a stand-alone treatment but underlies my approach.
Probably the major component of effective treatment, Deep Tissue Massage goes well into your body's soft layers (muscle, fascia, etc.) to correct dysfunction and reduce tension. A part of every massage I offer, this is not a stand-alone technique.
As a trained therapist, I make every effort to get the best possible result with the least amount of discomfort. Soreness can occur after treatments but usually decreases over time.
Although many techniques of Thai Massage are added to every treatment, there is a pure form of therapy rather different from our regular western session. Also called Thai Yoga massage, you are rhythmically pressed and gently stretched in flowing moves that release tight areas and balance your body. No oil is used and no extreme moves are applied.
My Thai massage is done clothed (soft shirt and stretchy pants are best) and on the table. Muscle imbalances are located and cleared; the focus is on releasing tensions and freeing movement. From left to right, front to back and head to toe, mobility and perception are improved.
A Thai massage session is great at easing
pain and improving function.
Seated, or Chair massage relieves stress and tension without getting oily or undressed. You lean forward in an adjustable chair that allows me to massage your back, neck and shoulders, even legs. Great for anyone.
Focused on problem spots, these visits are shorter, less expensive and fit well into busy schedules. Useful for reducing buildup between regular "full-body" massage sessions!
Also available on-site for office or home groups.
Pregnancy Massage is designed for safe, effective treatment during a
physically challenging time.
Without exception, hands-on therapy helps reduce discomfort and ease away aches and pains.
Using pillows, side-lying techniques and specialized training, massage is comfortable and safe throughout the pregnancy and post-partum periods.
